For this review we bought and tested 7 different Protection Cases for the Apple Watch Ultra, including cases that will transform your Apple Watch into a G-Shock style for less than $30 bucks. Many of the cases include screen protectors, and we’ll also be showing you both rugged and thin Apple Watch Ultra cases with some starting for as little as $13 bucks. These bumpers are also perfect for those looking to change the color of the Ultra to black, orange, and other colors.
1. AmBand Case – Less than $30 on Amazon
First up, the amBand Case Protector and Strap. We got it on Amazon for less than $30 bucks, and it’s available in Black, Army Green and Black/Gold. We got two of them, one in Green and another in Black. It comes with the case and band, along with 2 screen protectors and cleaning wipes for the install.

The case is one piece with the band, and has a soft feel to it. Getting the Apple Watch in is super easy and it fits right in.
The case covers all the buttons, except the crown – and the button covers are even made of metal in black aluminum. The hardware of the clasp is made of lightweight aluminum in black. And the buttons are easy to press, with some grip to it as an added bonus.
The rear of the case is left open, for access to the sensors and charging.
For size, it only comes in 1 size fits all, but the band fits a variety of wrists, from 5.7” inches to 8.7” inches in circumference. And for reference, the wrist in this video is 7 inches.
2. Orange Case – Less than $15 on Amazon
Next up, if you want a rugged case that really pops in color, check out this bright Orange case for only $15 bucks. The color really stands out, but it’s not as high quality as the previous one, and the rubber feels cheaper and not as soft.

We also don’t love the “Protection, Resist” branding on the front. It also doesn’t come with anything else but the band. So, for the price – you get what you pay for – but if you really want the orange color, check it out.
3. Spigen Armor Case – $20 or less on Amazon
A better quality rugged case is the Spigen Rugged Armor for $19 bucks. This one comes in one color – black – and it’s a more rugged design with a thicker and more squared off edges. It also has carbon fiber accents on both sides around the buttons.

The Spigen case covers all the buttons and leaves the crown exposed. And it even has a cover on the rear, which helps protect while leaving the middle open for the health sensors and charging. There’s no screen protector included with this case, but the top of the case has a raised bezel to help protect the screen.
The Spigen Armor case also pairs nicely with Spigen’s Rugged band which has the matching carbon fiber accents and can be bought separately for $27 bucks.
4. Ringke Case 2 pack – $15 on Amazon
If you’re looking for either a clear case or a silver one, check out the Ringke case in titanium grey and clear. It’s $15 bucks on Amazon and comes in a 2 pack with both Grey and Clear colors.

The grey is similar than the Grey of the Ultra but more of a matte color, while the clear will retain the look of your Ultra while still providing protection. The case covers all the buttons while leaving the crown open, along with the back for the sensors and charging. It doesn’t come with a screen protector, but the case has a raised bezel to help protect the screen.
5. Tauri Thin Case – 2 pack for less than $20
You can get the Tauri 2 pack on Amazon for $17 bucks. It comes in a bunch of different colors like Black, Clear, Army Green and even Orange. We got ours in black, which is a matte black with a nice soft touch. This case is nice because it has a front glass cover already built-in. Installing it is easy, you use the dust remover and then slide the watch right in.

The screen protector has full protection of the glass and still allows the touch screen to work as normally. And we like that it comes as a 2 pack, so you can always swap it out for a fresh case if it gets beat up.
6. Elkson Slim Case – $15 on Amazon
Another slim case is this one by Elkson for $15 on Amazon. It comes with a screen protector and cleaning wipes for installation. This case is a matte black that’s nice and soft, and it covers the action button but leaves the crown and side button exposed. We like that it has a clean and simple look, with the included screen protector.

The back of the Elkson Slim Case protects around the edges and part of the back, while leaving the sensors and charge plate exposed.
7. Spigen Thin Case – $19 on Amazon
Finally, the last slim case is the Spigen thin case for $19 on Amazon. It’s a matte black with a soft shell case. It covers both the action and side button and leaves the crown exposed. It doesn’t come with anything but the case, and overall for the price we think this one is sort of expensive compared to the other options.
