Size Comparison – Sense 2 Is Slightly Slimmer
For size, the Sense 2 is 10% thinner and 15% lighter than the Fitbit Sense 1. Looking at battery life, it will have the same six-day battery life as the original Fitbit Sense.
The screen of the Sense 2 is the same size as the Sense 1, coming in at 1.58 inches.
Added Physical Button
Fitbit has now added a physical button to the Sense 2. The original Sense 1 had a touch sensitive area on the side that could detect when it was touched. But now, having a physical button is more practical — especially when exercising.
Upgraded Sensors
The Fitbit Sense 2 has an updated EDA sensor that detects tiny electrical changes changes electrodermal activity (EDA). This sensor combined with the HR sensor will can detect stressful events, in order to help you better understand and manage your stress levels.
More Exercise Modes
The Fitbit Sense 2 also adds new exercise modes. While the Sense 1 had 20 types of workouts, the Sense 2 now has 40 different types of exercise, with 20 new modes added that include HIIT, CrossFit, dancing and weightlifting.
Price
The Sense 2 now retails for $299, while the Sense 1 can be found on sale making it still a great option and a nice deal for new smartwatch owners looking to get their first Fitbit.
