Apple Watch Ultra: Release Date, Upcoming Features and Specs

Apple Watch Ultra is the latest rumored smartwatch to be expected and maybe announced from Apple’s upcoming September event on September 7th, 2022. It’s speculated that Apple will announce both Apple Watch Series 8, and potentially a new Apple Watch model. Here’s what we know so far about the highly anticipated device.

Apple Watch Ultra: Extreme Sports Athlete Ready

The most significant change with the Apple Watch could be the design and materials being used for this new upcoming model.

Apple is expected to use new materials such as titanium or ceramic for the body of the new watch. With these kinds of materials, the new Apple Watch could be significantly more expensive than the current models. Some Apple analysts such as Mark German of Bloomberg are saying it might start upwards of $800 to $1,000.

Will The New Apple Watch Be Round?

We could also see an entirely new shape, if Apple finally decides to make a round smartwatch. There’s been patents that Apple has published in the past with round designs, and most other smartwatches like the Garmin’s have been round. So, will Apple finally cave in and make a remarkable new design?

Apple Watch Ultra: New Health Sensors

One of the most anticipated features for the watch would be new sensors that can track different kinds of data, such as skin temperature sensors. That would allow the Watch to track more health metrics than ever before.

For example with sleep tracking, Fitbit has had temperature sensors in their smartwatches like the Fitbit Sense. In a blog post about what skin temperature reveals, they describe how unusual spikes or drops in skin temperature at night would be a tell tale sign for someone to adjust different room temperatures or try new types of sheets and blankets.
